Ojai Business Builders is a diverse group of business owners in the Ojai Valley committed to strengthening the community through networking and outreach. Members meet weekly to inspire one another, share knowledge and resources, brainstorm solutions, and provide assistance to reach personal and professional goals and to offer community service to other businesses in Ojai. Current outreach projects of OBB include news articles offering top 10 tips for business topics like customer care, and the Business Jump Start Program. This 3 month small business development program is designed to support the growth of a new or existing Ojai Valley business ready to jump to the next level. OBB members provide the selected business with a diverse and exciting set of development services including coaching, financial planning and internet development - completely free to the selected participant. Heather McKenzie practices at Synergistic Health in downtown Ojai. She has been practicing colon hydrotherapy, or colonics, since 2002. Her mission is to support people in reaching their wellness goals through gentle colonics, high-quality supplements, nutritional and cleansing information and appropriate referrals to other skilled professionals. The equipment she uses is registered with the FDA and is completely sanitary.
Brook Montagna is a Certified Mindful Coach and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Brook coaches her clients to create powerful and lasting change for a better life. She is committed to helping her clients live life from a place of inner truth, with mindful confidence and skillful actions for greater success. With over 15 years of experience helping people transform their lives and careers, Brook facilitates others to live more authentically and joyfully, with greater ease and expanded possibilities. Her approach is direct, caring, insightful, creative, and positive.
Tyler Suchman runs The Ojai Network, a collective of Ojai websites focusing on community and culture, including The Ojai Post, Ojai Healers, The Ojai Garden, Ojai Network, Ojai Blog, Ojai Jobs and Ojai Restaurants. His consulting company, Tribal Core, provides internet strategy, community building, online marketing and search engine optimization services. He is also founder of Artists of Change (currently in development) which will redesign the relationship between non-profits and their global community.
From Bank of America in 1965 as a part time teller Diana Trent has grown in her 40 year career serving in almost every aspect of the Banking world. She has served as Teller, Supervisor, Trainer, Loan Officer, and Manager. Diana intended to retire in 2005 and left Washington Mutual Bank after serving there for 10 years. The opportunity to work with Shari Skinner and Ojai Community Bank was just too enticing so she is now working again in the banking world as a Business Development Consultant for Ojai Community Bank.
Diana also serves as a Minister with the Symphony of Life Spiritual Center for the last 10 years, an interfaith organization that is inclusive of all religions. She is currently studying in a Masters program in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. Diana is also the Executive Director of the Omega Point Institute, a non profit corporation whose purpose is to invest in research and education for the upliftment of consciousness on the planet. Diana has been a resident of Ojai for 28 years, she has two children and three grandchildren that are the delight of her life.
